Privacy policy
What Dunmorrow keeps, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Here is how personal data is treated when you call in at dunmorrow.com, set out with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law in mind. In brief: the hall gathers almost nothing, keeps no accounts, and reads your email only so it can answer it.
I. The controller
Personal data handled through this website is controlled by the operator of dunmorrow.com. For anything touching on this policy, write to [email protected].
II. Notes kept in your browser
Two short notes are written to your browser’s local storage by our own script:
dunmorrow-agerecords that you answered yes at the door, so you are not asked again on each page.dunmorrow-consentrecords whether you chose “Accept all” or “Reject non-essential”.
They sit on your device until you clear your browsing data, and they never travel to us. The cookie policy goes into more detail.
III. When you write to us
An email to the hall, whether typed yourself or drafted with our contact form, reaches us with your name, your address, your words and anything you attach. Its sole use is answering you and handling any follow-up. Once the conversation is finished and nothing further is needed, the message is deleted.
IV. Why we are allowed to
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interests: replying to people who contact us, and keeping the site safe and in working order.
- Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent: optional advertising or analytics cookies, which remain off unless you press “Accept all”. Change your mind whenever you like with the “Cookie settings” button at the foot of each page.
- Storage the site cannot work without: the two notes above, which simply remember answers you have already given.
V. Things we never do
No accounts, no player profiles, no record of how you play, no selling of data and no automated decisions about you. We do not knowingly gather anything from people under 18.
VI. The games in their frames
Every tale is loaded from its third-party developer’s own servers. As it loads, your browser talks to those servers directly, passing on your IP address, browser type and similar connection details, and the game may leave its own play data on your device. That processing is governed by the developer’s privacy terms rather than by Dunmorrow.
VII. Fonts and server records
Cormorant and Karla, the two typefaces on these pages, are fetched from Google Fonts, which means Google sees your IP address when your browser asks for them. The server that hosts our pages may also keep routine technical records (an IP address, a time, the page requested) for security and troubleshooting, and kept only briefly.
VIII. Who else may see data
Personal data is passed on only when running the site requires it, such as to whichever company carries our email, or when the law demands it. Should any such provider handle data in a country outside the EEA, it is expected to rely on a transfer mechanism the GDPR recognises, for instance the EU standard contractual clauses.
IX. What you can ask of us
| Your right | In practice |
|---|---|
| Access | Request a copy of the personal data we have about you. |
| Rectification | Have anything wrong put right. |
| Erasure | Have your data deleted. |
| Restriction and objection | Limit our use of your data, or object to it. |
| Portability | Receive your data in a format you can take elsewhere, where this applies. |
| Withdrawing consent | Take back consent at any point; anything done before that stays lawful. |
Send any request to [email protected]. Under the GDPR we must respond within a month, and we may first check that the request is genuinely yours.
X. Raising a concern
We would like the chance to fix a problem first, so do tell us. You are always free, though, to go straight to the Data Protection Commission, which supervises data protection in Ireland: dataprotection.ie.
XI. When this page changes
Should our handling of data change, for instance if analytics were ever introduced, this page and the date above will be revised before the change begins.
